Keywords: Programmable Logic

The four devices of the Zynq-7000 EPP family allow designers to target cost sensitive as well as high-performance applications from a single platform using industry-standard tools. The tight integration of the processing system with programmable logic allows designers to build accelerators and peripherals to speed key functions by up to 10x. ARM architecture and ecosystem maximizes productivity and eases development for software and hardware developers.

Designers have access to a number of different tools to start designing with the Zynq-7000 EPP:

Unlike ASICs and ASSPs, which do not offer needed flexibility and scalability, Zynq-7000 devices allow designers to modify their design throughout the development phase and after the system is in production. In addition, the Zynq-7000 EPP family, with over 3000 interconnections between its processing system and the programmable logic, offers levels of performance that two-chip solutions (ASSP+FPGA) cannot match due to limited IO bandwidth and limited power budgets.

Zynq-7000 Family Enables Highly Differentiated Applications to Market

While each device in the Zynq-7000 EPP family contains the same ARM dual-core Cortex-A9 MPCore based processing system, programmable logic and I/O resources vary between devices and serve a wide range of applications.

        See What Others are Saying

"For more than 10 years we have been discussing exactly this symbiosis possibility of processor and FPGA on one die to reduce cost and PCB space. Over time several companies have tried such an approach, but none of them offered a tight integration that allowed us to meet our targets. Finally, our long time wish becomes reality with the Xilinx Zynq-7000 family. This means Agilent can now create many different product variants on a common code base from low-end, mid-range, to high-end, with minimal cost and engineering overhead."

Xilinx CPLDs offer High Performance and Ultra-low Power Consumption

Macrocells are functional blocks that perform combinatorial or sequential logic, and also have the added flexibility for true or complement, along with varied feedback paths. A CPLD is a combination of a fully programmable AND/OR array and a bank of macrocells. The AND/OR array is reprogrammable and can perform a multitude of logic functions. Lowest Cost, Lowest Power CPLDs.

Xilinx FPGAs Offer High-Performance, Low-Power, Low-Cost Silicon Devices

As opposed to Application Specific Integrated Circuits where the device is custom built for the particular design, FPGAs can be programmed to the desired application or functionality requirements. Field Programmable Gate Arrays are programmable semiconductor devices that are based around a matrix of configurable logic blocks connected via programmable interconnects.

Virtex-7 FPGA Family

Delivering up to 2.8Tb/s serial bandwidth, these devices enable communications equipment manufacturers to increase network capacity with next-generation hardware that operates within existing power and cooling footprints. Create a 300G Interlaken Bridge that enables infrastructure scaling with devices that deliver up to 1.9Tbps bandwidth for bridging between MAC-NPU, NPU-Switch, NPU-TCAM using the Interlaken industry standard.
