As more people in the Tri-City area participate in fitness activities and athletics, the need for a comprehensive sports injury treatment and prevention program continues to grow.
The sports medicine program is staffed by board-certified and fellowship trained physician Russell Nord, M.D. who serves as the center's medical director. In addition, the program is staffed with physical therapists and athletic trainers who are experienced in helping injured athletes return to their favorite sport with minimal downtime.
Adult and weekend athletes aren't the only ones who need a program of this type. The program's sports medicine experts are collaborating with several area high schools and universities to give teams, coaches, and parents the guidance needed to treat young athletes, while teaching them about conditioning and injury prevention.
The sports medicine program fills a growing need in our sports community for high quality medical services. Athletes and physically active people can receive quality sports medicine care right here in southern Alameda County. We're focused on getting local residents "back into the game."
