Defense and Security

LightWorks Optics has an extensive heritage in developing and delivering products for the Defense and Homeland Security markets. The company's impressive array of advanced optical systems is currently deployed across a host of mission-critical applications within our defense network. It can be tailored for a variety of substrate materials such as Germanium, Zinc Selenide, Zinc Sulfide, Water Clear Zinc Sulfide and others.


X-Ray Photodiode Arrays

First stage amplification electronics can also be added to the custom board design to convert the current generated by the photodiode into an easy to measure voltage. The listed designs can be ordered as a standard part, but can also be customized to meet the needs of a wide variety of applications. The boards in the VTS Series employ chip-on-board technology with optically adapted scintillator crystals.


SWIR Cameras For Photovoltaic Inspection

SWIR technology is well suited to monitor the quality of solar thin films, concentrated PV, and crystalline cells, to maximize efficiency of the solar cell manufacturing process through final assembly of the completed modules. The InGaAs-based SWIR cameras, which operate between 0.9 to 1.7 microns, are ideal for inspecting silicon boules and wafers due to the material's transparency beyond 1.2 microns.


Biconcave Microlenses - OptoSigma

They are precision polished to very high tolerances so that they can be mounted into complex imaging systems. Plano convex, plano concave, biconvex and biconcave lens shapes available as standard.
