Video is a pervasive part of our modern world and Verimatrix addresses today's and tomorrow's challenges in the pay-TV business with a range of solutions optimized for specific market spaces.
VCAS™ for IPTV
The VCAS for IPTV software-based content security solution eliminates the vulnerabilities related to smart card based architectures through the leverage of mature, proven two-way Internet security protocols, a Public Key Infrastructure public/private key pair system and X.509 digital certificates.
VCAS for IPTV is also available for Hospitality applications through a cost-optimized VCAS for Hospitality IPTV Appliance. Moreover, VCAS for IPTV supports secure Wholesale-Retail content distribution, enabling a centralized, hosted service with local retailer control options, for both broadcast and on-demand content.
VCAS™ for Internet TV
VCAS for Internet TV offers a complete system for authenticated and protected video service delivery to STBs, connected TVs, PCs/Macs and a variety of mobile device classes over un-managed networks that implement HTTP adaptive rate streaming. This provides support for Apple's HTTP Live Streaming protocol and Microsoft's Smooth Streaming protocol, thereby enabling OTT delivery alongside established pay-TV methods and technologies, with all services secured by the unified VCAS 3 content authority.
VCAS™ for Cable IPTV
The VCAS for Cable IPTV solution integrates third-party CMTS bypass technology with the power and flexibility of VCAS software-based content security to enable conversion of an existing cable system to an asymmetric IP network perfectly suited for IPTV.
VCAS™ for DVB
VCAS for DVB, employing DVB Simulcrypt in conjunction with cryptographic and e-commerce technologies proven on the Internet, supports the use of a unified protection system for content delivered through DVB and IP segments of a hybrid pay-TV network and can be extended to offer smart card-less security for one way architectures.
When a digital TV operator wants to reach beyond its managed network to mobile devices and OTT delivery, the issue of different DRM systems arises. In order to provide the user with a transparent consumption experience, the operator needs to support native DRM systems on the devices that they wish to provide services for. Verimatrix has devised the MultiRights™ framework to overcome the multi-DRM challenges. MultiRights brings CE devices with embedded, non-Verimatrix clients under the VCAS revenue security umbrella, together with subscriber devices incorporating Verimatrix ViewRight clients, enabling unified rights management for all screens from a single content authority. MultiRights is available in a number of versions targeting specific DRMs.
Verimatrix Forensic Watermarking
Verimatrix has been investing in watermarking R&D for more than 10 years and is a global leader in the practical application and commercialization of forensic video watermarking solutions as a component of the company's layered content and revenue security strategy. After pioneering watermark insertion in the video output of set-top boxes (STBs) and PCs, Verimatrix introduced another innovative revenue security tool, distribution network watermarking. Common to both is an emphasis on invisible payloads, without impacting the consumer experience, while supporting the full range of features that rights owners require, including legally defensible identification.
