The Primac® Shop Floor Information System (SFIS) brings state of the art technology to the graphic arts plant floor. SFIS automates the collection of labor time, material usage, and job status information from all areas of the plant - from pre-press to shipping. Data is more accurate and errors are caught at the source.

Using networked PC's with touch screen technology running in a client-server environment, SFIS not only provides a faster and easier way for plant personnel to enter labor and material transactions, now adds the ability to bring more information back to the plant floor. This includes review of time sheets, real-time job review, and with direct access to all other functions in Primac® , plant staff and supervisors can see schedule status, inventory, job tracking and any other Primac® functions their security level will allow.

All data is validated as entered, then immediately forwarded to the host Primac® server, where it flows through the fully integrated relational database to job costing, WIP, inventory, and payroll. It also feeds real-time views in job tracking and scheduling. Touch-screens are faster and easier to use for employees, even for those employees who sometimes have struggled with barcode wands. However, barcode scanners can still be used to scan bar coded items, such as paper roll numbers, job numbers, etc.

A new version of SFIS has been release this year complete rewritten in .NET. The new release has many new new features:

  • Web-service integration with live data from scheduling and core Primac
  • SOA Ready to allow integration with PrimacBP.

Primac - Job Ticket System

Using the Microsoft Visual Studio Development environment and Primac's custom plugins you can create more than just job tickets by pulling in data from any number of systems within your work ticket. Use paperless tickets directly on your shop floor work station or design ticket print to meet your requirements with all the design functions of Crystal Reports.

Primac - Production Scheduling

This is by far, the most sophisticated Production Scheduling System available today - integrated with Primac's powerful Job Costing System, Job Estimating System, Shop Floor Data Collection System, Inventory and Purchasing Systems.

Primac - Job Estimating

The Job Estimating System is the basis for detailed instructions fed to the plant, for each individual job fed to the Production Scheduling System, for the Job Jacket produced by the Job Ticket Framework, and for the estimate-to-actual comparisons within the Job Costing System. Inherent in the design philosophy of the different estimating systems is the recognition of estimating as more than simply providing the customer with a quote for a job.

Primac - Production Systems

Primac's Production Scheduling System completes the closed-loop production information system necessary to manage graphic arts production in today's world of "just-in-time" deliveries, volatile schedules, and tight job turnaround. Primac's Invoice Management System is a derivitive of our Job Ticket Framework designed to give Primac users turn-key capability to design and print customer invoices in a WYSIWYG environment.

Job Costing System

All job cost reports, estimates, estimate-to-actual reports, actual-to-standard reports and other efficiency reports are all based on the direct costs, optional overheads, and production standards you have defined in the Job Costing System. These standards combine with estimating data that includes operations, materials, outside services, shipping and miscellaneous costs required to complete a job.

Primac - Products

All of these segments have unique requirements from client information management, various forms of pre-media and prepress to multi-faceted finishing capabilities to highly specialized distribution methods ranging from simple individual delivery tickets up to thousands of detailed run lists with bill-of-lading.
