Today is Moving Day. : loading and unloading the moving van Children
Drop the children off or organize a corner of the lounge with some of their toys and a few treats. We have a few things to keep them happy on the Moving with kid’s page. Older children may want specific tasks, like packing up their own personal box or put in charge of making sure cupboards etc are empty.

Bathroom
Finish packing the toiletries box, and then take everything out of the bathroom that you want to go. You can now put all the bits and bobs that you don't want the removal men to take in the bathroom and shut the door.Strip the beds
Put the linen into a box that is clearly marked or bin liners, these usually end up being placed on top of your bed at the other end. If you are having the packing done just fold the linen and leave on top of the beds so they can be easily packed. The moving truck arrives

The team leader/foreman will introduce themselves and their crew. Show the team leader around the house and tell them exactly what is to go and what isn't. If you have emptied the bathroom of articles that are to go, tell him that there is nothing to go out of there and shut the door.

The kettle
Most important, moving house is very thirsty work for everyone involved. Keep the kettle boiling and the biscuits flowing.

Check everywhere
Once the van is loaded, take a walk around with the team leader to ensure that all the items to be moved have been placed on the van. This is your responsibility to make sure nothing is left behind. Check behind doors, in cupboards and on the walls. You would be surprised how often people keep looking at a clock on the wall, but never remember to take it down.Wave goodbye
Say goodbye to the removal van, hopefully with your directions to your new house. Now read all the relevant meters and load up your cars/car. Have a last good look around for anything you might have forgotten. Check that all the windows and doors are locked when you leave.Your new house
Open up and have a look around. Inform your team leader of which rooms are going to be which.Direct traffic
Once you are settled have someone stand at the main entrance that the removal men are using and direct them to the appropriate rooms. Remember all the furniture and boxes are yours so don't expect the removal men to know where you would like things to go. If you are having boxes unpacked, the contents will usually be placed onto a table or appropriate surface for you to put away.

Check the truck. When the van is empty, have a look inside so you know there isn't anything left behind.

The more prepared you are the faster and Cheaper your move will be

For many people having to move is worse than facing a dentist's drill. The closer you get to moving day, the more psychological and emotional stress take their toll on you - and rightfully so. However the job has to get done so the best thing to do is take it one step at a time. In our experience we have had all kinds of customer’s reactions to moving. Some customers will not be ready; they have only packed half of their belongings. When we arrive we see that it’s over whelming to the customer. They are stressed and they do not know where to start or what to do next.

When we arrive we find that we will have to pack up all the rest of your belongings (No stress) it’s what we do for a living It may take a bit more time but we will do our very best to make your move as stress free as possible . But don’t forget the more prepared you are the faster and Cheaper your move will be. Everyone wants there move damage free done as inexpensive as possible and as fast as possible. We also have to think of safety. We have to be safe; our motto is we carefully move your precious things. One thing you will find is that we will start working and we will not stop until the job is done. We take pride in our work.

The first thing we will do is to pack all the boxes into the truck as we cannot get to the big heavy things while the boxes are in the way so we have to move the boxes first. If you have closed sealed boxes we can put 4 or 5 on our dollies and whip them out to the truck but if you have open ended boxes we cannot put them on top of each other as they will fall off the dollies, taking more time and cost to your move having to carry them one at a time out to the truck. We will then take the doors of the hinges if it’s required to get your furniture out to the truck. We will dismantle all of your furniture if it’s required and reassemble it all. So have no fear when you see the door off. We have seen customers get stressed after seeing their door taken off; it’s all OK we will put your door back on again
