Project Management

Project management has become a vital skill in today's fast paced environment.  An effective Project Manager is the focal point where people, process, information and technology occur in a effective implementation. Services include business development, project plan development, scheduling, risk mitigation and avoidance, scope management, deliverables monitoring and hands-on management of the day-to-day activities that keep a project on track, on time and on budget.

Process Management/Control

Developing an “as is” map of current processes can highlight areas that can be targeted for improvement and provide support for a business case for a process change initiative. With many clients, these process maps have never been drawn or are out of date.  Drawing these process maps is the first step can often be a first important step in the definition of requirements for a new technological initiative.

Training and Course Development

Effective and timely training makes a huge difference in the deployment and acceptance of a system within the workplace.  Training must be effective, practical and specific to the audience it is presented.  Training is rapidly evolving from classroom based instructor led environment to a more interactive, self-managed environment where ongoing training is available as needed and when time is available.

Effective course development is a cornerstone to providing effective training.  Whether the course is delivered in a traditional classroom environment, provided over a Learning Management System or some combination of the two, the course must provide the student with the necessary information in an easy to understand manner.  Superior training yield superior staff and an easier acceptance and adoption of the system.

Quality Assurance/Quality Control

Quality Control is a procedure or set of procedures intended to ensure that a manufactured product or performed service adheres to a defined set of quality criteria or meets the requirements of the client or customer. Quality Assurance is defined as a procedure or set of procedures intended to ensure that a product or service under development (before work is complete, as opposed to afterwards) meets specified requirements.

The challenge in QA/QC is to set up the procedures that are practical, usable and have a measurable benefit to an organization.  Too often Quality Assurance and Quality Control are academic exercises.  The goal is to make the QA/QC process an integral part of the everyday business processes so that all parts of the project team are involved in ensuring a product of the highest quality is delivered.

Business Analysis / Architecture

There are a variety of methods that can be used to identify and document user requirements for a new system or a system to be updated.  Each method has its strengths and weaknesses. Developing an approach to requirements definition that is aligned with organizational culture and capacity is key to a successful project implementation.
