The Ducklows – FAQ

What are your office hours?

We do not counsel or coach on weekends or in the evening. Paddy’s time is restricted to Mondays and Thursdays due to his university teaching.

How long do I have to wait to see you?

We usually have a 1-2 week waiting list. We are not normally able to do crisis or “right now” kind of counselling. If we cannot see you within a couple of weeks, we are happy to recommend another counsellor or agency that you might wish to contact.

What are your fees?

What if I cancel an appointment with you?

You are required to cancel 24 hours prior to your appointment to avoid paying the fee for the counselling hour. Unavoidable medical emergencies are an exception to this agreement. If we are able to fill your cancelled appointment time with another client, no cancellation fee is assessed.

Do Carole and Paddy sometimes counsel together?

No, the cost for this to most clients is prohibitive.

The Ducklows – Consulting

Psychological assessment or coaching cannot promise to direct you to the perfect career but it can be very helpful in providing direction and caution. Psychological assessments and interviews are often helpful for adults entering into vocational work and those in vocational transition. We empower organizations in working with their leadership staff in job transitions, conflict management, long-term planning.

The Ducklows – Counselling

It is especially difficult if one imagines that the counsellor will be “on the side” of some other person; or if you should feel embarrassed about some aspect of your life. In some quite rare circumstances, we may need to inform another about what you have said to us — please see the paper on “Confidentiality.”. Please understand — people don’t usually come to counselling because their lives are doing great or that everything is perfect.
