The Secrets of Successful Partners: The Prerequisites for Relationship Success
Nov 7, 14, 28 & Dec 5: 7:00 - 8:30 PM
This information is slowly filtering into public awareness, but most people still don't know what the prerequisites for relationship success are. In this practical, information-packed, four-week seminar, you'll learn how people who get their partners to treat them well go about doing it. You'll develop a thorough understanding of the crucial set of habits that lead to satisfying relationships. By the end of this seminar series, you will know, at least in theory, what the most effective reaction to any challenging relationship situation is. Of course, knowing what you need to change is one thing, doing it is another, especially at the moments when you're upset. Studies show that when we get upset, most of us react in highly predictable, "knee jerk" ways. In this seminar, you'll also learn about new brain discoveries that have unlocked the secret of how "knee jerk" habits can be changed, and you'll learn how to translate this knowledge into practical strategies for developing new habits of your own. This four-week class will be conducted in a seminar and discussion format. Video segments of couples who are upset with each other will be used to illustrate effective habits and the most common ineffective alternatives. Whether you attend alone or with someone you're in a relationship with, this seminar series will give you the basic knowledge you need to operate more effectively in your relationships.
This seminar series is intended for anyone who wants to better understand how to successfully navigate intimate relationships. You can come by yourself or with a relationship partner.
Tuition is $75 per person (A reduced rate is available for current clients at the Couples Clinic - ask your therapist about it).
This course is approved by the Illinois Division of Professional Regulation for 6 hours of CE credit for LCSWs, LCPCs, and LMFTs.
