I didn’t take the photos this time, but I did learn a lot about environmentalism – from two historically un-green industries: printing and event planning. On pages 14-16 of the new CARE magazine, you’ll find my article ‘It’s Easy Being Green’. That’s a reference to the Kermit the Frog song.

The College of Licensed Practical Nurses just published a story I wrote and photographed called Rhoda Blooms. Everybody has a story to share, and it is my job to let that story shine.

It is called Eat your Words, and is taught by well-known food writer Jennifer Cockrall-King. I am in the midst of taking a two-Saturday food writing course from Grant MacEwan. I’m immensely enjoying the experience.

So in mid-August, my husband and I packed up our youngest son, age 6, and travelled to Ireland for the Congress and a subsequent two weeks in Dublin and County Cork. I was thrilled when my abstract for speaking at the World Down Syndrome Congress was accepted earlier this year.
