Shepherd Gourmet Dairy produces Feta from Sheep’s Milk, Goat’s Milk, Cow’s milk blends. The same cheese making excellence is applied to all our feta and we use only the freshest, highest quality ingredients.
Sheep Milk Feta:
This semi-soft brined cheese is made with fresh Ontario Sheep’s Milk. Sheep’s milk is the secret to making authentic Greek style Feta. It’s smooth texture, and fresh sweet taste makes this feta equal or better in quality than any French or Greek imported varieties. Ingredients: Pasteurized Sheep milk, Pasteurized Goat Milk, bacterial culture, salt, microbial enzyme, calcium chloride
Goat Milk Feta:
This feta is made from fresh local Goat’s Milk. It has a slightly tangier, sharper taste than the sheep milk feta, yet still maintains a fresh taste. Ingredients: Pasteurized Goat Milk, bacterial culture, salt, microbial enzyme, calcium chloride
 Cow’s Milk Blend Fetas:
This is a newer product for Shepherd Gourmet Dairy. Extensive research and trials have gone into making this feta as fresh tasting and as our other fetas. Sheep Milk yogurt is a traditional favorite of people from countries around the world. The sheep milk creates a rich yet delicate taste matched with a delightful tang. This yogurt, marketed under the Krinos brand is an all natural, Balkan type style yogurt with 5% milk fat. Ingredients: Pasteurized Sheep Milk, bacterial culture
We make our ricotta from the sheep milk whey captured immediately after cheese making. This ensures that the cheese retains the sweet sheep milk flavour. We vacuum seal our ricotta to maintain freshness and quality.
