These management systems are only sustainable if the people performing the work can buy into the concept. Training people so they can utilize the system to help themselves is an important component of the process. The systems have to work for the workers and not the other way around. Management systems have to be broken down so they make sense. The resulting systems are powerful tools for management because they are transparent and logical.
From 2000 to 2005 Jim Perkins contracted his services as an ISO Management facilitator with Performance and Results International LLC (PRI), of McLean, Virginia. Customers included; the Port of Oswego, N.Y., McKeil Marine Ltd., Hamilton, Ont., Volpe Centre for Navigation, Cambridge, Mass., the Texas Education Agency, Austin, Texas and the Education Service Centers for the State of Texas.
