The Crew Scheduler is built on Scianta’s Intelligence’s own multi-objective, multi-constraint resource allocation system. Using both conventional scheduling techniques and advanced optimization services implemented using genetic algorithms and evolutionary programming, the crew scheduler is able to quickly solve very large problems with very high numbers of constraints under multiple objective conditions.

The crew scheduler is an integrated and coherent collection of Java J2EE classes consisting of a master plan compiler, resource managers, job managers, calendar generators, precedence (network) solvers, bounded and unbounded schedulers, elastic and elastic constraint handlers, and a final ranked collection of solutions (the Scianta crew scheduler returns both the optimal as well as a set of near optimal solutions).

The Crew Scheduler is simply one application in a special class of  resource constrained scheduling.  The same set of Java classes can be applied to a wide spectrum of related problems in such areas as capacity optimization, urban planning, traffic and route management, containerization control, portfolio allocation and optimization, capital budgeting, and IT infrastructure support.
