It’s Monday, and I’m back in Victoria at the ZUMA gym in my regular routine. I always find it surreal how much time is put into a fight (training, diet, game planning, travel), then 20 min later the fight is over. All I can look forward to now is my possible next fight – which I hope is Marloes Coenen for the Strikeforce title. The funny part: within the last couple of hours before the fight, all I want is for the fight to be over. HAHA
Here is a quick run down of how my Vegas week got rolling after all the waiting. On Wednesday, I didn’t have too many obligations, so I ran some errands then got my hair braided before I started cutting weight. Before starting the cut, I was about 13 lbs out…so perfect for me. I loaded the bath with epsom salts and watched some Fringe (thanks Adam Zugec for getting me hooked on the show), then put on my sweat suit and went jogging down the block with Adam. I actually stopped into a store and I’m almost positive they thought I was there to rob them LOL. Once back at the hotel I just bundled up and went to bed. When I woke up I was all the way down to 138.2
Fight day was uneventful, EXCEPT for fighting, of course. Overall, I’m really happy with my performance. Liz Carmouche is a very tough fighter and I didn’t expect anything less. I was definitely hoping for a KO/ TKO, but am not going to complain with the outcome. Liz was very gracious before and after the fight, and I’m looking forward to seeing who she fights next.
Looking forward ,I’m hoping Marloes Coenen beats Miesha Tate this Saturday, then I get to challenge for my title once again. I’m planning on heading to Chicago to be at the Strikeforce card next Saturday, and to support my team mate Julie Kedzie!!! GOOOO JULIE!!!
