Website Design & Development // what to expect when working with us

This page explains the steps from start to finish with a Custom Website Design & Development project and gives you an idea of what to expect when working with us.Note: This is just a guide and your project may have needs that are not addressed here.Project Phases


Website Design & Development Quote
Take some time to think about what you wish to accomplish with your new website. Is it going to need any special functionality or interactivity with your visitors? How many pages do you need and what type of navigation would you like (such as home, about us, services, etc). Finally, how do you want the website to look? If you have any websites you would like us to refer to when designing your site or if you have any preference as to colors, style, etc please offer that information as well. Needs Analysis
Based on the information you provide we will attempt to determine your needs, what you are expecting from your website, and try to get a feel for your industry. This is why it is important to have a good idea of what you want before requesting a free website design & development quote.Website Development Contract
Once we have come to an agreement on project details, timeline and price, we will prepare a website development contract for you to review, sign and send back with your deposit.Initial Deposit
The signed contract and 50% deposit is required before we schedule a time slot for your project. The remainder of your balance will be due upon project completion. Once we have received your 50% deposit and signed contract, we will set your project start date. All projects are scheduled on a “first come, first served” basis.Domain Name Registration / Website Hosting
We will secure your desired domain name (pending availability). The domain will be registered in your name with your information. A hosting account will be created on our server for your website. Hosting fees are separate from website design & development and will occur on a monthly or an annual basis when your website is launched.Graphic Design Project Begins
Upon receipt of your deposit and signed contract we will email you a confirmation of your deposit/contract and let you know the start date of your project. We may also ask that you provide a list of items which will be needed from you over the course of development (such as company logo, photos, etc.).Ideally, all of the above information should be supplied prior to us getting started.
Work will commence on your scheduled start date.Custom Designed Website
We will provide a custom designed home page concepts for your project. In most cases, we will be able to provide this design within 3-5 business days following your start date. After you have reviewed the design, we will continue to make modifications to the design until the final desired look is achieved. Once the final desired look is achieved, we will create the interior page layout, convert the design to HTML, add programming, etc.
Custom logo design is also available for an additional fee.In Progress Viewing
We will email you a link to a private directory for your new website on our testing server so that you may view the website development progress at any time.Professional Stock Photography
If a client requires stock photography, an additional fee may apply.  Website Development / ProgrammingProgramming
Based upon your contract all website development programming is completed and tested. Website Pages
Based upon your contract all static or dynamic web pages will be completed for your site.

Website Navigation

Navigation links or drop down menus, and rollover effects, if desired, are completed. Site Map
A site map is created to include easy one-click access to all pages of your site.Site Content
If you have an existing site we will copy the content and add it to your new website. Our easy to use content management system will allow you to have full control over all the content on your website. Make changes to your website whenever you want!CSS Stylesheet
CSS Stylesheets are used to define font faces, styles, sizes and colors for consistency throughout your website. Favicon
A favicon is a small image that displays in the address bar and on the favorites menu when someone bookmarks or adds your website to their "Favorites". Creation of a favicon is included in all custom website development projects.
We always recommend a contact form for your visitor’s convenience. Using a contact form, a visitor can email you directly from your website. This is especially convenient if a visitor is not using their own computer when their email program is not available. Testing
Meta Tags, Page Titles, Alt Image Tags, Link Text, and Page Body Text are checked and can be changed at anytime using our content management system. This is extremely useful when you are trying to adjust keywords or descriptions to match your website content. We do not guarantee when or where the search engines will place your website within their search results or directory.Browser Compatibility Testing
Your website is tested on a variety of operating systems and browsers to insure proper display and functionality.

Grammar & Spell Check

Before the website is launched, a grammar and spell check is performed to insure there are no mistakes. This feature is also available to you in our content management system.Dead Link Check
A thorough check for misdirected links and missing files is performed just prior to as well as after the launch of the website.Forms / Programming
Any email contact forms and/or programming features included in your project are tested to confirm they are functioning as required. LaunchFinal Payment
Final payment is due before we launch the website on your domain. Upon receipt of final payment, you will be emailed a final/paid in full receipt and your website will go live.Launch Website
All necessary website files and scripts are copied to your domain and databases are setup. Error Testing
After the website is live, any interactive programming and scripts are tested to verify proper function. Since the design and testing phase occurs on a different server, it is important to verify that everything is working correctly. Instructions
Included in the content management system is a help file on how to operate your new website. If you can’t find the answer to your question you can use our support ticket system which will contact us directly via email.

Search Engine Submission
We will submit your website to the top Search engines after launching, testing and fixing any issues there may have been.

Minor Adjustments / Changes
Minor adjustments to the website are included at no charge for up to two weeks after the website has launched. Any major revision requests will require additional discussion and possibly incur a fee.

You will receive 90 days of free support when it comes to managing your new website once it has been launched. Be sure to use the help file first because most of your questions can be answered there.Hosting & Domain Name


Our hosting services provide Coldfusion MX 8 support which allows us to run our proven Content Management System, Smarter Stats for analyzing your website traffic, Smarter Mail for creating your domain specific email accounts such as, database hosting with MYSQL, guaranteed uptime and support you can count on.Hosting Packages:
  • Option 1: $30/mo. (direct debit from credit or debit card)
  • Option 2: $300/yr. (get two free months of hosting vs. monthly payments)

Domain Name
Our domain name services allow us to search for the domain(s) you would like (pending availability) and register it in your name. We will manage your domain throughout the year and make sure all the settings are correct (such as DNS which points to your server) and take care of all transfers and management requested by you

  • Annual Fee: $20/yr. (each domain name)
