Field Trials and Pilot-Scale Tests

In addition to providing a test of treatment effectiveness under actual field conditions, these tests also allow us to assess certain environmental, mechanical, and logistic issues that are not considered during bench-scale testing. This information is useful for optimizing full-scale design, ensuring that environmental impacts of the proposed treatment approach are acceptable, and for deriving reasonable cost estimates for full-scale remediation.

Field trials and pilot-scale tests can range in treatment size from several m2 through to a hectare or more in size and typically vary in duration from a few months to several months of more.

Redlog has experienced personnel and equipment with the capabilities to carry out field trials and pilot-scale tests at sites worldwide.

REDLOG ENVIRONMENTAL LTD - engineering design

Our mix of consulting and contracting experience means that we understand and can take into consideration the key logistical, engineering and environmental issues to come up with a cost-effective design and a reasonable cost estimate for even the most complex site.

REDLOG ENVIRONMENTAL LTD - full scale treatment

Redlog staff and our Associates have the experience and equipment necessary to ensure that this highly-specialized contracting work is completed in a timely and cost-effective manner. In situ treatment of contaminated aquatic sediments has been successfully completed at sites in Canada, United States and Hong Kong.

Data collected during the site characterization phase can be analyzed using a risk assessment techniques to determine whether or not the contaminants present at a site might pose an unacceptable risk to the environment or to people.

One important step in most to feasibility studies is to identify clean-up goals or remedial action objectives, which are the goals for protecting human health and the environment at the site and/or for complying with regulatory requirements. The remedial action objectives specify contaminants and media of concern, potential exposure pathways, and preliminary remediation goals.

REDLOG ENVIRONMENTAL LTD - site investigation

Redlog can provide a full range of experienced scientists, engineers and site technicians to carry out site investigation and characterization studies at the most challenging sites. Collection of pertinent supplemental information, e.g., climate, geology, ground conditions, road/boat access, bathymetry, flora and fauna surveys, permitting requirements, access.
