BR 03-92 Ceramic by Bell & Ross Matt Baily

2010 February 26

Bell & Ross has always moved forward as a company, but it has done so in small(ish), cautious steps. This has been a key to their success and contrasts other companies like Frank Muller for instance, who's quick growth troubled them and saw thousands of their watches sold "dumped" on the grey market. The BR Instrument was an primary player in Bell & Ross' climb to fame. When it first came out it was embraced by watch lovers despite its squareness, size, and ultra-sporty, military styling. Once the watch's acceptance was evident, Bell & Ross branched into other versions of the Instrument including the smaller BR-03. Some successful experimentation with the ceramic and the BR-03 92 frame, eventually led to the creation of the BR-S ceramics. The trifecta was complete. These three different Instruments cover all the bases in terms of satisfying fans of the square Bell & Ross watches.

In the past year, the usage of ceramic has been greatly popularized by brands such as Chanel, Hublot, and Bell & Ross. Although its benefits were known to the watch world for many years, it is only recently that the general, watch-loving public has become appreciative of the material's qualities. Chanel has offered the J12 ceramic watch for many years now. Bell & Ross, while comparably a newcomer to the ceramic game, have slightly preceded the boom with the production of the BR-03 Ceramic. I have chosen to compare two popular models from Chanel and Bell And Ross in order to highlight the advantages and allure of ceramic on watches.

2008 April 03

The new models are trickling in from the Basel fair. The first Bell & Ross BR03 Type Aviation analog digital watch will be available sometime in the coming months. Made for the French Air Force this beauty looks like it has a rotating bezel and very funky hands.

2007 December 10

The Bell & Ross Br03 Ceramic Instrument is like wearing an espresso cup saucer on your wrist. They really give the whole Bell & Ross BR Instrument line a breath of fresh air. Same great quality you come to expect of the 42mm stainless and titanium Bell & Ross BR03 Instrument models, but with a summery light and funky touch for the woman or man that needs that flair.

2007 November 27

We have just received the new BR02 models. These watches are big and masculin. Perfectly finished with a high polished case and brushed steel bezel. Very comfortable on the wrist. Tough enough to go 1000 meter swimming and elegant enough for a 5 star dinner.
