Modernization of the Mexican Property Tax System
IPTI is working on a project for the Inter-American Development Bank, the Federal Government of Mexico through National Bank of Works and Services Public SNC and the National Institute of Statistic, Geography and Information to assist in the modernization of the Mexican property tax system. An integrated model to improve the efficiency of real estate property tax contributions to municipal governments will be developed, with emphasis on the tax collecting processes, taxpayer communications, definitions of assessment procedures and policies, design and update of tariffs and the management of these policies, process and procedures at the municipal government level.
International Assessment and Tax Database Project
The assembly of this collection of property taxation information is exciting in that it represents a collaboration of effort among IPTI members. IPTI representatives situated in and having knowledge of the countries reviewed were essential in providing the relevant information. This collection of information presents a consolidation of IPTI conference papers, presentations and articles from its Journal of Property Tax Assessment and Administration.
