Key microstructural parameters such as average grain size, grain size distribution, density, phase volume fraction, and porosity define a material’s potential properties and performance. The Clemex Analysis Application Packages are a simple and easy way to analyze and get repeatable results from metallurgical samples.

Clemex Application Packages are groups of pre-builtimaging routines designed to cover several typical examples of an application. Each example is represented by an image to help users select the one closest to their own application. Within each example are various methods for analyzing the same image.

The Clemex Grain and Cell Sizing Application Package allows users to measure grain intercept, intercept counts, intersection counts, grain boundary length, and grain areas in accordance with ASTM E 112, ASTM E 930, and ASTM E 1382 methods, with validation using the Heyn method. Within each Clemex Grain and Cell Sizing Application Package there is a range of different routines. Users simply select from one of the many routine the one that most resembles their own application. An easy-to-follow on-screen tutorial allows users to find out what the application package does and how to modify it.

The Clemex Layer Thickness Application Package allows users to measure the thickness of thin surface layers on metals, alloys, carbides, and oxides (ASTME B 487).

Within each Clemex Layer Thickness Application Package there is a range of different routines, from one layer of porous coating to multiple layers of different types of coating. Users simply select from these many examples the one that most resembles their own application. Each routine is easily editable.

The Clemex Phase Analysis Application Package allows users to count any number of clearly distinguishable constituents or phases within a microstructure, providing a statistical estimation of the volume fraction of different phases.

Each Clemex Phase Analysis Application Package contains a range of different routines, from two phases in black & white to up to five phases in color. Users simply select the example that most resembles their own application from one of the many included in the package. Each routine is easily editable.
Used both in pharmaceutical and materials sciences, the Clemex Particle Sizing Application Package allows users to reliably assess the size and shape of particles as small as 0.5 micron.

By using optical microscopy this package offers statistical and individual data on a large sample of particles.

The Clemex Particle Sizing Application Package contains eight different routines, each with examples and tutorials. Each routine is easily editable, allowing users to adapt the routine for their specific analysis.
