Ulbrich manufactures tinned precision copper flat wire for solarcell tabbing and string interconnect ribbon that is used in crystalline and thin film modules. Our bus ribbon is utilized to carry the current throughout the solar modules.  

Ulbrich’s Light-Capturing Ribbon™ increases the efficiency of a solar module by reflecting light back onto the surface of the cell. This grooved ribbon replaces the traditional wire that connects solar cells together. As with traditional interconnect wire, it is soldered to the silver busbar on top of the silicon and to the solder pads on the back of the next cell. Eighty percent of the photocurrent from light that strikes the ribbon is recovered-far better than the 5% recovered by standard interconnectwire.
