Mike Kuntz and “Walking Tall” will be featured this weekend at the “Hot August Nites” race at the Terrace Regional Airport. His new ride is a Pt Cruiser that made it’s second appearance ever at the Houston Drags in 2009. We first met Mike Kuntz running Rob Murphy’s Wheelstander at 2006 Hot August Nites in Terrace. People could sign the car and a draw was made and some lucky kid won a pt cruiser model.

Cars like Andreeson’s fire breathing Hemi Pinto put the speeds up over a hundred miles per hour, much too fast to go around the bend at the top of the hill on slicks. This weekend racing reverts back to where racing began in B.C.’s Pacific Northwest, with “The Dave Saunders Memorial Hill Climb”. The first race was a single lane, quarter mile race up Haisla hill in Kitimat in the late 70?s. All of the cars raced up a highway hill.
