My first aerial photography mission was in 1999 for a land development project that I was working on as an engineering technologist. Since 2002, I have conducted regularly scheduled photo flights for a wide variety of clients including government agencies, land developers, engineering and construction companies, home builders, planners, commercial and residential real estate companies, golf clubs and private individuals. Capturing those perfect shots of a project requires detailed planning, a photographic eye and a little luck with the weather.
My specialty is low altitude, regularly scheduled photo flights in major Canadian cities. Since many projects are combined into one flight, individual project costs are kept to a minimum. I fly at least twice a month in the Calgary area and once a month in the Edmonton/Red Deer, Vancouver/Victoria/Whistler and Toronto/Ottawa/Montreal/Halifax regions, less often in winter.
My expanded 2011 schedule is posted in the "Packages" section. Contact me for information for photo flights in other regions not listed here.
I use either fixed wing aircraft or helicopters, depending on location and my client's requirements. Since I fly many sites on a given photo flight, I offer a fixed price for your project, no matter the aircraft used. All of my photography is done with either the door removed (helicopter) or the large swing window on a plane opened completely, ensuring the highest qualilty images.
I offer a full range of photography and image editing and enhancement services, as well as professional printing and framing.
I use state of the art photography equipment, medium format Hasselblad H3D-II digital camera and Hasselblad lenses. Occasionally I also use my two trusty Nikon DSLR's and Nikon Pro lenses.
Probably my strongest "claim to fame" is the creative photographer's eye that goes into each and every photo flight as well as the post processing that I lovingly give to each and every photo. Besides the standard "gorilla in the room" Photoshop, I use some other interesting software applications and propriertary (read "secret") techniques to polish each photo up to the best it can be.
I try to only fly when weather conditions are close to perfect. Postponed flights are flown as soon as possible afterwards, usually within a few days of the original schedule. Often, last minute flights can be accommodated. Sometimes sites near airports require more advance notice to air traffic control and, on occasion, we may not be able to get access to a specific site on a given day.
A flight can be arranged for a time that is convenient for you and your project. I offer three aerial photography packages to best meet your needs and budget. All packages come with a money-back satisfaction guarantee. I also offer video services.
Aerial Stock Photography: I have many high quality, current stock aerial photos (digital file or print) covering most of the Calgary area including downtown, major roads, industrial, commercial and residential areas, parks and recreational facilities and many unique scenic views of the city. As well I have many outstanding aerials from Edmonton, Vancouver, Victoria, Whistler, the Toronto region, Montreal and Ottawa.
I have a large selection of "generic" aerials of specific subjects but not obviously of any geographic location, i.e. gravel pits, industrial sites, roadways and interchanges, "generic" subdivisions, parks and natural areas, rivers, lakes and oceans, transportation, scenic views, farmland and ranches, office towers, etc. They can be used for a wide variety of applications.
Prints, framed prints and digital image files are available for sale (Stock Photography section).
