Good Spring to All,
We have had a very wet winter. If you weren't prepared you probably got stuck, walked in or turned around and went back home. We had the opportunity to get in a few times and it was beautiful and quiet. I welcome Spring, the smell, the beauty and a lot of time to relax out of the city.
At the Fall Meeting we went over the water share clarification: minimum for recreational properties is 1/4 acre foot of water (not 1/4 water shares). You will need to look at your water share to confirm the acre feet you own.
Building codes change from time to time as we all know, so it is best to check with Sanpete County Building Inspectors for current information.
We are continuing to work on ideas for the PWL website. Hopefully it will be up and running with plat maps, service phone numbers and more.
The landowners voted in Craig Thompson and Mark Wendel as our new Vice-Presidents. There is always enough to be done! Chris Gantz moved to the President position. Ginger Hunter was asked to resume as secretary. We want to thank Doug Hunter for his hard and diligent work as President.
Last fall major road work was done and gravel was laid from Farr's Hole up into Highlander Hills. In section 11 more gravel was laid. We realize we may not be hitting all the spots that need gravel but we are addressing as many areas as we can with the dues we receive. There are a few areas that gravel will not help. The roads are so rocky the gravel will simply roll off. Many landowners have laid gravel on the main roads for their dues. We continue to encourage this in lieu of paying dues. Please let Ginger know if this is what you plan to do.
SPRING MEETING, SATURDAY MAY 23, 2009, 9:30 A.M
(Memorial Day Weekend)
We will be hosting the Spring Meeting at Chris and Cindy Gantz's Cabin. Their driveway is about 1/4 mile east of the Panorama Woods entrance on the south side of the road. Signs will be posted. We invite everyone to attend and again bring your favorite pot luck. Another spring meeting, another RAFFLE. A donation for the raffle always makes for a fun time. Please bring an item if you can. One raffle ticket will be given to each land owner and if you pay your dues on or before the day of the meeting you will receive two extra raffle tickets. We will be donating another Panorama Buck ($100 for dues).
We encourage everyone to come to the PWL meetings and to pay the dues. Enclosed you will find a pre-addressed envelope for your convenience to send in your dues. Dues are still $100 a year. We are going to have two accounts. One account will be for dues the second account for emergency funds as suggested at our last Fall meeting. If you would like to contribute to the emergency fund send a note to advise me. Any amount is welcome $5, $10 and so on. This fund would be used for emergency road work, bridge work, spring repairs and any unforeseen events that will affect the general PWL area.
Work weekend will be Saturday, June 13, 2009. We will be spraying for roadside thistle and noxious weeds. Also, we will do general clean up and trimming of branches that interfere with the roads and obstruct view. Bring your sprayers and branch nippers and we will supply trash bags and weed spray.
THANKS to everyone who participates in weed spraying, dues paying and meeting going.
