One Hour Family Gathering

• 25 Attendees     • Simple     • Private

Sometimes closure is best gained in a simple gathering of friends and family. Basic Funerals understands this and it’s why we have designed a special visitation service that creates a simple, yet meaningful memory of the deceased. (read more)

Memorial Visitations

• Informal     • Flexible     • Public

When the needs of a family are beyond just a basic family gathering, and the wishes are to have a visitation with friends and family for 2 hours or more with some type of formal service following, then a memorial service is the right choice. (read more)

Traditional Visitation

• Formal and Structured     • Customary or Specialized     • Public

Many families have found that a small gathering or memorial service suits their needs, while other families choose a more traditional service with a full funeral visitation. (read more)

Graveside Service

• Formal or Informal     • Flexible Choices     • Everlasting Memorial

Whether it be a burial of cremated remains or a full casket burial, sometimes the best place to have a meaningful funeral gathering is at the graveside. A graveside service has been commonly associated with being the last part of a funeral service but is now becoming the focal point. (read more)

Arrangement Process

We strive to make arrangements convenient for you so the choice is completely yours.

Step 3: Documentation - We will complete all of the documentation required for the funeral process. We also offer help with settling your estate through our Basic Estate Services. Documentation can be completed by phone, online, and in person in the Ottawa area.

Step 4: The Day of the Service - Our funeral directors will arrange everything so on the day of the service, there is nothing for you to focus on but your family. The services you choose will be scheduled at a time and place that is most convenient for you and your family and you will be provided with a funeral itinerary that completely outlines the details of the services you've arranged.

Step 5: Completion - If cremation was chosen, you may either pick up the urn from the crematorium or they can be delivered to you by our staff.  Payment can be made either by cheque or Visa / Mastercard and your Proof of Death Certificates will arrive in the mail shortly thereafter.
