Optosecurity has begun a development effort to integrate its core XMS technologies into AIT portals to provide automated threat detection for personal screening. PICASO (for Portal Image Contextual Analysis Software) is intended to enhance the next generation automatic detection performance and improve target recognition.

PICASO software is based on 3D computer vision and contextual visual analysis and is being designed to improve the next generation automation capability body scanners. Using proprietary contextual algorithms, Contextness®, PICASO is aimed to allow the removal of fully analyzed architectural features commonly found on the body in order to better detect anomalies driven by objects hidden under clothing.
