I am honoured to present the 5th World Freestyle Skating Championship which will take place in Geisingen City (Germany) on October 21-23, 2011.

Recent events, chances, and announcements include:

  • May 14th- Trillium 10k in Mount Forest, Ontario
  • June 4th-5th- Ottawa Inline Skating Festival
  • July 1st- Canada Day Marathon, Cambridge
  • July 16th- Roller Marathon de Montreal

The big picture is quite clear: Canadians need to move a lot more and sit a lot less. It’s the details that have caused some confusion.

While the new exercise guidelines released Monday are straightforward, the rationale is leaving some people scratching their heads. That’s because while the message is to exercise more often and more intensely, the recommended minimum levels of physical activity for children and adults have been reduced — from 90 minutes to an hour a day for kids and teens, and from an hour a day to 150 minutes a week for adults.

On Friday, Sept. 17, “team up” to show your support for sport in your own community. In boardrooms, on Parliament Hill, behind anchor desks and in classrooms, all Canadians will have the opportunity to dig out their favourite jersey, team or club uniform and wear it proudly to school, work or play on national Jersey Day. Jersey Day is a fun way to rally support for Sports Day in Canada, and get all Canadians to demonstrate our love and support for sport.

The 2010 RSO Series came to a close this past weekend with its final stop at the CITC’s 200-meter banked track in Harriston.

Daniel Cloutier’s Cross-Canada-Skate to raise funds to help fight cancer continues;
