The four Seasons of Marriage!
One question (as a Wedding Officiant and Pastor or Minister) I am often asked (especially by couples getting married) is, ‘What can we expect in marriage, how do we handle the challenges, or what makes for a succesful marriage, do you think we’ll be able to cope, make it, etc.’
As someone who has been married for almost 40 years I am able to offer some insight (my wife probably more). Yet these are very important questions that must be taken serious.
Following please find some of my thoughts as to how you maybe able to withstand the seasons of life and marriage.
In what season is your marriage at this moment?
Perhaps you’re in the midst of a spring marriage season, full of hope, optimism, and new activities.
Or maybe you’re enjoying the marriage of a warm summer.
It can also be that your relationship is more like the fall – filled with uncertainties and change, fearful of what the future may hold.
Perhaps you’re experiencing the current state of your marriage as cold and seemingly void of any love, companionship and care, you’re in the winter of marriage and life. And the one looming question that keeps returning over and over again is, ‘will spring ever return’ will the love we held one for another be back, can we change our state, will this dreaded and cold season ever pass?’
The answer is a resounding yes!
