Students enrolled in our academic programs have the option to volunteer for hands-on and realistic work experience as part of our internship and volunteer work placement opportunities. Internship and placement schedules are flexible, and vary from program to program, but generally range from 40 hours minimum and up to 8 weeks and focus primarily on providing students with the chance to apply their skills and knowledge in a genuine business or industry environment. Placements are chosen based on student interest, academic performance and their area of expertise. 

Internship placements are offered in, but not limited to, the following sectors: 

  • Advertising & Media Sector
  • Banking & Finance Sector
  • Hospitality & Travel/Tourism Sector
  • International Trade/Logistics Sector
  • Law/Justice Sector
  • Retail Sector
  • Toronto District School Board
  • English as a Second Language (ESL) Institutions
Non-Profit Organizations

NOTE: UCCBT does not guarantee an internship placement in any specific organization or company.  The placement will be based on students’ education, experience, English proficiency and a successful interview.

Students are welcome to come to the counseling centre for information or to obtain advice on many different issues. The Student Services staff are always available to provide every student with helpful counseling services.
