The Web Map Service (WMS) specification was one of the most successful accomplishments of the (OGC). OGC-compliant Web map servers are everywhere on the Internet now. The public availability of free map services from government agencies and commercial providers has resulted in an explosion of map-based applications on the Web. However these servers vary in quality, capabilities, performance and reliability. Building applications around them can be difficult. CubeSERV®, the CubeWerx Web Map Server can end all that uncertainty.

Simply the best

Nearly all WMS products on the market, whether Open Source or commercial, suffer from various limitations. They may only produce maps in certain image formats, or a single map projection. CubeWerx WMS is the most complete and comprehensive implementation of the OGC standard on the market. It is capable of producing maps in all popular image formats, using hundreds of map projections. CubeWerx helped create the WMS standard back in 1999 and since that time have rigorously maintained compliance to every version of the specification. Our continued involvement in the evolution of the standard means that the CubeWerx WMS is compliant to new versions of the specification as soon as they become public. This means that you can build your applications on a CubeWerx Map server with confidence.

A Cascading Service

If it wasn't enough to simply be the best Web Map Server on the market, CubeWerx WMS is actually capable of making other map servers better. Using its unique cascading capability, you can plug your CubeWerx WMS into multiple downstream map servers, regardless of their vendors, versions or capabilities. CubeSERV® will augment any missing functionality and present their contents as its own. It can automatically re-project maps from servers that do not support the map projection you require, or convert their map images to whatever format you wish. If they do not support the version of the WMS specification you need, CubeSERV® translates their capabilities for you. All of this happens seamlessly and automatically. The CubeWerx Cascading Map server takes a confusing conglomeration of incompatible data sources and distills them into a single point of entry, with all the capabilities you require. This translates into greatly reduced development time. You focus on creating your application, not struggling to integrate disparate data sources.

A word about performance

The CubeWerx Web Map server is designed for speed and scalability. Its built-in load balancer can automatically route map requests to sibling servers for faster response time. Caching is used extensively throughout the architecture. Every aspect of the server's behavior can be tuned using a simple yet powerful Web-based Configuration dashboard.

A geospatial security gateway

CubeSERV® is integrated with our product. You can install it in cascading mode and use it as a gateway to provide security and authentication to downstream map servers. Protect all your organization's map services, regardless of their vendors, using spatially defined role-based access control rules.

09-12-2011 - Web Registry Server (WRS

CubeSERV, CubeWerx Catalog and Web Registry Sever are based on the Oasis ebRIM information model and the OpenGIS Consortium Catalog Services Web specifications, creating an interoperable, standards-based solution for maintaining and searching geographic resources and metadata.

Web Map Tile Server (WMTS

The idea behind the OGC WMTS specification effort was to come up with an open interface that can scale to large number of users, generate maps in a fraction of the time it takes to generate maps with OGC compliant WMS servers, and become interoperable in an SDI environment composed of many WMTS clients and many WMTS servers.

09-12-2011 - Web Feature Server (WFS

CubeSERV® Web Feature Server builds on the CubeSTOR® solution by providing a web based service for querying and performing transactional operations including database locking. Allows “schema mapping” to dynamically present a different data schema to the client than the one defined in the database, including mapping of column names and data types.

09-12-2011 - Web Coverage Server (WCS

Unlike the Web Map Service which filters and portrays spatial data as a rendered view of the data, the Web Coverage Service provides access to coverage data, as needed for client-side rendering, multi-valued coverages, and input into scientific models and other clients beyond simple viewers.
