Ford has finally unveiled the return of a legend, the BOSS 302 and Boss 302 Laguna Seca. It has been been more than 40 years since Ford has put the BOSS 302 badge on any motor. Keeping that in mind, the 2012 incarnation of the best track Mustang ever is a very special occasion for enthusiasts who have been wondering when or if they’d ever see the return of this beast. Inspired by the classic 1969 model, the cars feature a unique front fascia, a modified grille, a front splitter, and lightweight 19-inch wheels with Pirelli PZero summer tires. Essential statistics are, a revised version of the Mustang GT’s 5.0-liter V8 engine cranking out440 hp (328 kW / 446 PS) and 380 lb-ft (515 Nm) of torque thanks to a new intake, a quad exhaust, modified camshafts, higher-rate coil springs, stiffer suspension bushings, beefier rear stabilizer along with a speed-sensitive electronic steering system (with three modes: Comfort, normal and sport), defeatable traction control / electronic stability control systems, adjustable shocks (with five manual settings) and struts, a race-inspired clutch (with upgraded friction materials), a short-throw six-speed manual transmission, a 3.73 ratio rear axle, and a Brembo front braking system.
