Many eyewear stores have promotions like “buy 1 get 1 free” but the reality is that the products are already marked up most times by up to 300%, at the end of the day you are still paying more than you should. In Ontario, optometrists are regulated and restricted by law from adding markups to their frames and lenses, they are required to sell at cost price. These lenses are now available in toric designs for astigmatism.
