Mobilicity this week added the BlackBerry Curve 9380 and the Android powered HTC Amaze 4G to its line-up of smartphones.

Public Mobile, providers of low cost wireless service in Toronto and Montreal , today announced it has expanded its roaming coverage to the United States.
The company’s U.S. roaming rates will be the same as in Canada, 15 cents a minute to send or receive a call. Incoming texts are free and outgoing texts are 15-cents.
In September, 20.1 million Canadians ages 13 and older used mobile devices according to recent estimates by research firm comScore.
The researchers, who extrapolate the ownership numbers using responses gleaned from online surveys, estimate that 40% of Canadian mobile users owned a smartphone, an increase of 7% in the past six months.

The HTC Amaze 4G smartphone, currently a Telus Mobility exclusive, will be available from Wind Mobile beginning Friday, December 2nd.

Sony this week is releasing new firmware (Version 4.0) for its Playstation 3 video game console which will enable the device to act as a content management server the Playstation Vita.

SaskTel has announced that it is deploying 11 portable cellular towers to address 4G network congestion primarily in Regina and Saskatoon.
The portable towers, also referred to as COWS (Cellular On Wheels), will improve 4G coverage and capacity in the areas where they’re deployed by reducing the load on existing towers.
