Project Due Diligence-CanACRE

For a wind project, not only should the wind potential of a planned project come under scrutiny, but also the land that it will be built on. Developers and lenders must understand the risks associated with a project before deciding whether to purchase or finance a project. Investors looking to acquire new or planned project sites will require a thorough due diligence analysis of the project.

Municipal Consultation/Permitting and Planning-CanACRE

CanACRE works to identify and obtain the necessary permits, approvals and authorizations that will be needed from various governments to secure land use rights over a project area or right of way. Successful development of renewable energy projects and electrical transmission lines requires land use permissions from all levels of government. CanACRE provides the following permitting and planning services.

Aboriginal Consultation-CanACRE

The CanACRE team has experience working with First Nation communities to develop projects on First Nation reserve land and can advise clients on how to manage such projects effectively. Projects developed on First Nation reserve land require specific consultation and permitting processes, such as Section 28Indian Act permits. Such projects are typically developed through a joint venture between a developer and a First Nation community.

GIS and Mapping Services-CanACRE

We will build a project-specific database and create accurate and detailed constraint maps, highlighting land within a project area that is suitable for wind turbine placement, solar panel placement or electrical infrastructure. Accurate mapping and parcel information can be used by clients throughout a project’s development lifecycle for various planning and development activities.

Land Feasibility Studies-CanACRE

CanACRE conducts extensive land use feasibility studies over potential interconnection routes, providing our clients with a full risk analysis and possible mitigation measures before a final ROW route is selected. CanACRE will add the most value to its clients' projects by providing strategic planning and route selection services during the early stages of a potential ROW acquisition.
