Yoga Basics 1- For Absolute Beginners: This 4 week absolute beginner yoga series is recommended for those new to yoga who wish to establish a solid foundation in the practice. Everyone has the ability to start and flourish in yoga, regardless of age, level of flexibility and physical condition. Take this opportunity to learn why millions of North Americans have taken up yoga and found it so easy to stick with it. Join other absolute beginners and explore: the foundations of yoga, including standing and sitting postures (asanas), breathing (pranayama), meditation. Each week we will explore a new dimension of the practice including: synchronizing breath to movement, alignment details, muscles used in specific poses, physical benefits of poses. During the process you can expect to improve your overall fitness level by gaining strength, increasing your flexibility and balance capability and improve your cardiovascular fitness. Yoga Basics 2- For Beginners: this 4 week series is recommended for those who have completed Breathe's Basics 1 course or have limited yoga experience and wish to continue building a solid foundation in the practice. Students will continue to work on building strength, flexibility and stamina in the physical elements, as well as the breathing and meditations aspects of the practice. Extremely beneficial as a means to continue building the practice and preparing for attending Level 1 and Open Level classes on the drop-in schedule.
