Though the weather outside does not warrant thoughts of leisurely bicycle riding or easy bike commuting, a recent Globe & Mail article questions wheter Mayor Rob Ford's administration might, in fact, be relatively bicycle friendly.

This would seem unlikely, given the rejection by the administration of ambitious plans by the alst Mayor's office to greatly expand bicycle land coverage.  Here's an interesting interview of a new city Councillor, Mary-Margaret McMahon.

Protected bicycle lanes would be an important step forward for Toronto to improves safety for bicyclists.

An interesting recent article about New York City and a push back by some residents to scale back the (more) ambitious expansion of bicycle lanes in that major city.
