What is Chiropractic Care?

Chiropractic care is a form of healthcare based on the study of the nervous system. Every muscle, organ and tissue in your body is impacted by your nervous system. If there is an interference to the normal function of your nervous system, then your spine, musculoskeletal system and the rest of your body will be negatively impacted. You will feel pain and/or discomfort. Chiropractic care is one of the best ways to relieve this pain and discomfort, and to get your nervous system and the rest of your body to function optimally.

A & H Health Horizon’s chiropractic care services are provided by Dr. Mirza. During the chiropractic treatment, Dr. Mirza uses a variety of adjusting techniques specific to different types of injuries, providing excellent personalized care to adults and children.

What should I expect when I first come to the clinic?

Your initial appointment will be approximately one-hour in length. During this time, a complete medical history is taken. The history is followed by a physical examination, which may include gait (examination of the feet, legs and trunk while walking), posture, ranges of motion, reflexes, muscle strength testing and specific orthopedic tests to allow the doctor to arrive at a diagnosis. Having completed the initial assessment Dr. Mirza will have a discussion with you about the diagnosis, treatment options, risks, benefits, cost of treatment and individual goals. Treatment usually starts at the initial visit.

Subsequent Visits

Depending on the condition diagnosed during your first visit, subsequent treatments may last from 10 to 20 minutes. Depending on your condition the treatment may involve an adjustment, muscle release therapy, soft tissue massage, or other treatment methods.
