SOSG Municipal Enforcement Officers enforce a variety of Municipal By-Laws and Provincial Legislation, including but not limited to the following:

  • PARKING
  • NOISE COMPLAINTS
  • DERELICT VEHICLES
  • MUNICIPAL ZONING & RELATED REGULATIONS
  • ANIMAL CONTROL LEGISLATION
  • PARKS AND RELATED LEGISLATION
  • TRESPASS TO PROPERTY ACT
  • MUNICIPAL PROPERTY PROTECTION
  • WASTE COLLECTION
  • WATER USEAGE REGULATIONS
  • PROPERTY STANDARDS
  • SMOKING & HEALTH BY-LAWS
  • OPEN BURNING REGULATIONS
  • ANY OTHER MUNICIPAL BY-LAWS
  • CONSULTING SERVICES (Helping municipalities write legislation to deal with issues)

In virtually all cases, enforcement of the above regulations is limited to the issue of an advisory or a warning and recommendations as to compliance options. Rarely is it necessary to issue an offence notice. It is our philosophy that willing compliance is always the preferred outcome.
