Some 400 St. Pat’s students and volunteers are out collecting cans this morning, it’s the 28th annual Irish Miracle.
They’re hoping to collect 6 thousand bags of food to be packaged in 1300 hampers for the needy by St.Vincent de Paul.
You’re asked to leave cans on your front porch to speed up the process. They’ll be picking up from 9-noon.
Residents in the area bounded by Russell Street and London, Wellington and Murphy Roads are asked to drop their donations off at St Pat’s. There’s also a drop-off at St Michael’s in Bright’s Grove for those living on Lakeshore between Hillcrest Drive and Blackwell Sideroad.
A number of Santa Claus Parades are scheduled across Lambton County today. Sarnia’s is set for 6:00pm (down Christina St. from Exmouth to Wellington). Donations are being accepted for the Inn of the Good Shepherd.
There are also parades in Watford at 10 a.m, Petrolia at 2pm, and Alvinston at 6pm.
Winter Artwalk continues today in downtown Sarnia featuring work from 30 local artists. That goes from 11-5. There’s free entertainment, and children’s activities all day.
The Children’s Animal Farm in Canatara Park plays host to Christmas On The Farm this weekend as well.
Carolling, roasting chestnuts and horse and wagon rides are the highlights.

Mixed Martial Arts is coming to Sarnia tonight, it’s the first ever “Meltdown in the Valley” event at the RBC Centre.
It’s a full ten-fight card of sanctioned, professional bouts including Sarnia’s own John “Haggis Basher” Fraser — the Canadian MMA Featherweight champion.
The fun begins with a fan expo at 1:00pm.
