If you're looking to go green this product may be just what you're looking for.  More clients are switching from regular poured or block foundations and going with an "Insulated Concrete Foundation" ICF.  These are installed by a licensed product installer.

Contact a manufacturer for their specifications as all manufactuers specs differ. (ie. thicknesses and R-values)

The most common ICF system used in our area is a 6", yes a 6" pour and 2-5/8" insulation on each side and of course rebar throughout, O.C. to be determined by installer/designer.  Interior drywall can be fastened to interior foam with proper fasteners as spec'd by manufacturer or contractor.

Check out this product, it's expensive but very efficient!
