More than the baby blues; Postpartum depression; when you are in need of some TLC... Motherjoy

New mothers need to feel well taken care of physically and emotionally if they are going to recover quickly from postpartum depression.  If family members respond in a way that tells the new mum that they acknowledge how she is feeling and understand what she needs; she can get better sooner.  Then she can begin to fully enjoy her newborn baby in those precious early days and weeks that most find fly by so quickly..
