Bereavement Counselling

By: Halton Family Services  09-12-2011

The death of a loved one is a devastating blow that leaves us overwhelmed with intense, uncontrollable feelings. Through sharing our thoughts and feelings with someone who has been there, we become aware that our grief response is normal and learn how to live with our loss.

Bereavement counselling offers people support to work through feelings of grief and learn to rebuild their shattered lives.

We offer individual counselling, resource & lending library, and community education awareness.

Financial assistance is available to those who qualify.

Credit/Debt Counselling

The best and safest way to deal with consumer credit is to immediately put some money aside after buying the goods or services or, ideally, always make sure that the money is already saved before buying something. Couples and individuals that are grappling with today's financial complexities approach the Agency for a private, confidential session regarding their money stresses.

Services for Children

This eight week series of group sessions is designed for school-aged children to help them accept the separation and to adapt successfully to their new family situation. This group program provides children, teens and their mothers with safe, nurturing environments in which they can discuss the violence and abuse they have experienced. Children can be seen for individual counselling, family counselling and in a group program.
