embur Computers - Services

Remote Support ServiceFor many minor issues, it may be possible for us to take control of your computer over the internet and correct settings, remove malicious software, reconfigure routers, etc. When appropriate, this method of service is both quick and efficient - often eliminating the need to bring your machine to us or have us come to you.For remote control, we use the TeamViewer application. Linked below are the Windows and Mac versions of the remote support client software. When prompted by our technician, download and run the appropriate version and provide the technician with the ID and PASSWORD generated when the program runs.   In-store ServiceOur in-store services encompass every aspect of computer service. From simple debugging to full blown rebuilding of your computer, we can do it all. Currently we have 5 operational service benches that can operate simultaenously. Each bench has a grounded anti-static work area and battery backup power to protect your computer and data while we work on it.Each service area also has access to a telephone line for testing dial-up devices as well as a high speed ethernet connection to our secured and firewalled internal high speed network and multi-provider high speed internet connections. As if that weren't enough, each computer being serviced is on a separate VLAN port so viruses and trojans on one computer can't cross infect any other customer computers while they are connected to our network. Our in-store service is carried out on premises with the exception of items that are still under warranty with the manufacturer and have to be returned to them for factory service. Our average turn around time on general repairs is 24 to 48 hours, with simple repairs being carried out the same day they are brought in. Unfortunately, we can not predict how long a repair will take if the unit has to be returned to the manufacturer for factory service.On-site ServiceWe realize that sometimes it just isn't practical or possible to bring your computer problems to us. For these cases, we offer on-site service (at your home or place of business). With a basic understanding of the problem before hand, we can dispatch a technician to your home or office with the tools and expertise necessary to get your computer(s) back up and running. This service is by appointment and does require some advance notice. This level of service is often useful for customers that need assistance setting up wired or wireless home or small office networks, or for customers with multiple computers needing service at the same time. In the event that we can't fix the problem on-site, we will recommend a solution or offer to bring the machine back to our store for service and return it when it is completed. Even with prior knowledge of the problem, it can be hard to predict what part(s) might be needed to complete a job on-site, so sometimes multiple visits may be necessary.
