The Niagara Falls School of Drama was established in 1993. The school is owned and operated by Colin & Lori Scears.  We have been teaching acting skills to youth for 18 years.  We share a spacious facility with Imagination Dance & Fitness and Ballroom, Etc. near the Stamford Centre area making us the region’s first combined arts centre.  There are three large classrooms which make a perfect atmosphere for our students to work and learn.

Since we have been teaching drama many of our students have moved on to pursue acting careers through post-secondary education.  Students have been accepted to such theatre programs as Humber, Sheridan, York, George Brown, Ryerson, Fanshawe, Niagara College and Brock University.  While still attending the drama school we have had acting students work with the professional company at Shaw Festival Theatre playing roles in ‘The Children’s Hour’, ‘All My Sons’, ‘The Man Who Came To Dinner’, to name a few.

We have done much work in the community teaching workshops at various public schools, YMCA in Niagara Falls, St. Catharines & Grimsby, the Early Years Childhood Education Centre(where we taught teachers how to teach drama) and various local church and community groups. We also taught a semester at Montessori School.

The instructors, Colin & Lori Scears, have been involved on stage and behind the scenes with the Niagara Falls Music Theatre Society(Firehall Theatre), Rainbow Productions, Port Colborne Operatic Society, Garden City Productions and Studio Seven Theatre in Toronto where Colin trained with professional actors.

Colin Scears was also a co-founder of the very successful Thorold Community Theatre.  Lori Scears has worked professionally as a singer/musical theatre performer and also trained privately in New York State.  Together they formed ‘The Victorian Carollers’, a professional vocal group, performing at Niagara Square, Pen Centre, Seaway Mall, The Winter Festival of Lights, the Niagara-on-the-Lake Candelight Stroll as well as many private functions.

This summer(2011) they will be teaching at the YMCA Niagara Falls Summer Day Camps.
