Your demands for food raised and grown in a natural, humane manner, abundant in flavour and tenderness are heard, loud and clear, at this farm. Our animals are grown with flavour and quality in mind, fed a steady diet of grass and hay. With this in mind we are happy to say our animals are, perhaps, the laziest beasts known to man. They are raised from birth, in a tranquil environment, grazing grass and slowly growing to market weight. Consistent with their Scottish heritage, the cattle are finished with oats and barley.
Slow growing, sustainable food is what we are about; factory farm methods are not welcome here. While many will pooh-pooh the thought of an animal not being finished quickly, our customers enjoy a superior product, high in flavour, taste and tenderness, comfortable with the knowledge this quality product was matured with a total diet of naturally grown crops from this farm. We don’t know, or care to know, how to administer hormones for faster growing animals.
This summer we will be offering free range chicken. These birds will slowly grow to between 7-10 pounds and fill with flavour. Processing will be done at a government inspected and licensed facility. Our grass fed lamb will be available beginning this summer in limited quantities.
To complement these tasty meals, we offer a limited supply of garden fresh vegetables, grown right in our back yard.
Everyone likes Maple syrup, some people even love it. Fresh syrup will be available in March 2011. A wood fired evaporator will transform sap collected from our Maple trees to a delicious, thick, delightful product offered to our customers. Litres and half litres will be offered.
Speaking of sweet things, honey production begins this year.
We also offer hay for sale, with local delivery services available.
We care about your health. Only government inspected and licensed abattoirs and butchers are used.
