To do this, our inspectors conduct a visual inspection of accessible systems and components of the home including: Structure and foundation Electrical systems Plumbing systems Roofs and Attics Basements and Crawl Spaces Gutters and Drainage Walls, Floors and Ceilings Porches and Decks Property and Site We also inspect and operate: Furnaces in heating season Air Conditioning in cooling season Plumbing Fixtures in Kitchens and Baths Water Heaters A representative sampling of Lights and Receptacles A representative sampling of Windows and Doors Our Full Inspections include: roof, vents, flashings, and trim; gutters and downspouts; skylight, chimney and other roof penetrations; decks, stoops, porches, walkways, and railings; eaves, soffit and fascia; grading and drainage; basement, foundation and crawlspace; water penetration and foundation movement; heating systems; cooling systems; main water shut-off valves; water heating system; interior plumbing fixtures and faucets; drainage sump pumps with accessible floats; electrical service line and meter box; main disconnect and service amperage; electrical panels, breakers and fuses; grounding and bonding; GFCIs and AFCIs; fireplace damper door and hearth; insulation and ventilation; garage doors, safety sensors, and openers; and much more. Our Inspectors meet or exceed the interNACHI (International Association of Certified Home Inspectors) standards of practice. These standards govern what we inspect and how we inspect it. We strongly recommend that you read them. We examine these systems and components and report any material defects that would significantly affect the value, desirability, or safety of the home. Most home inspections are approximately 3 - 5 hours in length. Once we are done we will discuss with you a summary of the findings and then provide a written report within 24 hours, generally by email and download in a .pdf (portable document format).
