Our Services

Recreational Respite is committed to making positive changes for our clients and their families. Our team is skilled through education, expertise and passion in therapeutic recreation- the ability to successfully engage an individual based on their abilities, strengths and interests and have the knowledge of the disease, impairment or challenge. Therefore maximizing the quality of their lives through meaningful and supportive respite solutions, beyond companionship services and aid in the continuum of care.

Therapeutic recreation programming has proven the ability to:

  • Decrease the rapid onset of disease or ailment
  • Value individuals’ contributions, self worth and role
  • Increase independence for making choices
  • Enhance memory skills
  • Prevent social isolation
  • Develop and maintain social skills

Our service can be provided in any environment in which our clients reside, including (but not limited to): retirement homes, long term care, supportive house, assisted living or home residence.

Program designs are individual to each clients needs, thus our program techniques, goals and objectives will vary. Some of our designs may include one or multiple variations of these goals including both mental and physical well being:

  • Individualized exercise programs to support range of motion, flexibility, strength and promote better circulation and overall well being
  • Dementia specific programming to help redirect challenging behaviors such as agitation and aggression, boredom and lack of stimulation
  • Leisure and learn programs that incorporate both the maintenance of skills and obtaining new skills and interests, with goals and objectives to support individuals with a developmental disability

Price and Fee Schedule (and funding partners)

There are multiple ways in which you can pay for our services. Besides the funding partners listed below, we are also happy to work closely with the care team involved with you or your loved one. We offer the opportunity to design a therapeutic program to share and educate those involved in the care, to continue to cultivate their relationship. Optimizing and empowering you, the care giver to have other tools and techniques to successfully support, care and engage your loved one.

Recreational Respite - just for kids

Our Just for Kids program involves the design and implementation of therapeutic recreation programs that can contribute greatly to a child’s growth and help with a variety of social, motor, physical and cognitive skills. Building these skills in young children with a disability will maximize their capacity for positive interactions and overall recreational and social engagement.
