Welcome to the Airline Hobby eStore!

Order Shipping:

I have had a number of customers ask me why I am doing this.  In the past, I have upgraded the postage as necessary, mailed the order, and sent a Paypal funds request for the amount owing.  Most customers have paid the amount requested, but a growing number have not.  Unfortunately I still have 40+ outstanding and unpaid funds requests, amounting to well over $200.  I cannot afford to continue this practice.  Hence, all orders now placed with the default shipping where it is not appropriate, will be cancelled and payments refunded.

6/27/2011:  It would appear that RBX Decals has ceased trading..  my attempts to contact the owner and place new orders have gone unanswered since December 2010.  I will be closing out all orders with back ordered RBX decals over the next few days, and from now on, as they sell out they will be marked as such in this system.

6/16/2011:  A restock shipment of Boeing 737-300 kits and restocks of various decals (Western Pacific logojets and more) arrived today from Daco/Skyline.

3/3/2011:  Minicraft has discontinued and sold out of the DC-8-63 with Eastern Airlines markings.  The re-release with Air Canada markings has apparently been cancelled, and the KC.135 delayed.  I'm not holding my breath that the Convair twins will be here any time soon..

3/2/2011:  I have had a major re-stock order open with Hannants since before Christmas to re-stock a number of Xtracolor paints.  It seems the Royal Mail will no longer allow the tinlets to be mailed, and as a consequence, a number of colours are now sold out.  Hannants is working to try to find an alternative shipping method that is reasonably economical, we will see how successful this effort s in resolving this problem.

2/3/2011:  The Roden 1/144 scale Douglas DC-7C kit, with Pan American markings, is in stock.

12/26/2010:  The 2011 Airfix catalog has been published, and to say the airliner section is disappointing would be a serious understatement.  Airfix shows 5 civilian aircraft, of which three are not available and one is a 1934 air racer.  The 1/72 F.27 Friendship is available, and presumably the Boeing 727-200 (Iberia) and 737-200 (Air New Zealand) will be released at some future date.  The 1/72 Concorde is listed, but apparently out of stock.

12/24/2010:  The Revell Germany TuiFLY 'HarabAIR' gold cs Boeing 737-800 kit has arrived.

 The eStore
In this system you will find every product offered by AHS. Plastic Kits, Decals, Diecast and Pre-Finished models and selected Magazines and DVD's – they are all here.

Payment Options
All We accept PayPal and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express) from all countries.  We can accept Money Orders from US and Canadian customers, as long as Canadian customers can purchase them in US funds.  We cannot accept Money Orders from any other country due to excessive bank charges levied to deposit them.  We will no longer accept personal cheques except by prior arrangement due to a recent spate of returned NSFcheques.

"Handling" Charge
All orders under $25.00 before shipping will be charged a maximum $5.00 handling charge (orders between $20 and $25 will be reduced at final invocing to make the before shipping total $25).  This is automatically added to the postage charge at checkout time, and will appear on your final invoice mailed with your order.  This handling charge will NOT apply to back order shipments, and will NOT apply to "standing orders" for monthly magazines (e.g. WAFN).

A customer asked "If I place a small second order, that ships with a another order already "In Process", will the Handling charge apply"‏ Answer is "No".. but please remind me in the Checkout Notes of the other order! I will combine and if the new total before shipping is over $25, the Handling Charge will not apply.

"Pre Release Orders", Cancellation Charge
When new kits and diecast models are announced, and are made available to you "Pre Release", I rely on your commitment to your order when I place my orders from my distributors.  In the past, I have been able to absorb the occasional cancellation of a "pre order", as I have usually been able to adjust my final order.  Recently, however, some distributors have started to take exception to this, and are considering my advance order as firm, and are not allowing reductions.  Their "teeth" in this is that they are threatening to cancel my account with them if I fail to honor and accept my pre-order.  Consequently I now have to insist that any order for pre-release items cancelled by any customer after a 48 hour "grace" period (ie 48 hours after the order is placed on this site) is subject to a cancellation charge of 25% of the value of the item(s) cancelled.  Shipping charges are not included in this, and will continue to be fully refunded.

Price Guarantee
Prices shown on this site can only be honoured for 'in stock' items. If an item is out of stock, and in particular if it is imported, prices are subject to adjustment.

Returns and Exchanges
We will accept returns within 21 days of shipping for a full refund of the product cost with no "restocking" charge.  The item must arrive back here in re-saleable condition - kits must not have been opened, decals must not be cut creased or damaged, and diecast models must be free of any obvious handling damage.  Postage and any handling charge that applied to the original order will not be refunded.

If an item is returned to be exchanged for another product, please be aware that the replacement order will be charged a handling charge if it meets the criteria set out above.

"Complete Order" Policy
Since re-launching this site four years ago, I have made it my policy to attempt to send "complete orders", with a minimum of "back order" items.  This saves you shipping $$$, and saves me a lot of time.  With over 14,000 items listed here, it is very difficult to keep all items in stock all the time.  Hence I pull and pack as much of every order that I can, then place orders for the missing items.  Most of my suppliers are able to fill these orders quickly, however some take months to complete and ship my orders.  Hence, I have modified this policy, and will now only hold orders for a select group of highly responsive suppliers.  Out of stock items from all other suppliers will be back ordered.  Who are these "highly responsive" suppliers‏  The current list includes, but is not limited to, Draw Decals, TwoSix, Contrails, GeminiJets, InFlight, Dragon WIngs, JetX, F-Rsin, Flying Colors, RBX Decals, Daco Skyline.

A Word about Shipping Charges:
We have seen a lot of orders recently that have come through with one of the "Decals Only" rates, when the order contains kits, diecast models, and resin parts.  The "Decals Only" options apply to orders that can be put in an envelope, between two pieces of cardboard.  Clearly, kits and diecast models cannot, and most resin parts cannot either.  So..  I know for smaller and lighter orders my system will offer the "Decals Only" rate, please be sure to select a more appropriate (and yes, I know, more expensive) rate.

Shipping - U.S. Destinations:
U.S. domestic shipments will be sent by US Postal Service (USPS) Priority Post, with "Signature Required" Delivery Confirmation.  Only small 'decal only' orders (under  8 ounces, generally up to 12 decals) will be sent by USPS domestic First Class mail.  If you want to avoid the $1.95 extra cost for "Signature Confirmation" on Priority Post packages (already included in the quoted postage), please let us know in the "Additional Comments or Special Instructions:" box at checkout.  As always, postage charged is at cost, and excess paid is always refunded.

Note, however, that ALL U.S. orders sent to office or work address, or to anywhere other than your Billing Address, must be sent Priority Post with "Signature Required" Delivery Confirmation.

Also, the US Postal Service (USPS) recently changed how shipping costs are calculated for "large" parcels.  Anything sent Priority Post that exceeds 1,728 cubic inches (e.g. 12" x 12" x 12" or any variation) is calculated by volume.  In such cases, unless you ask me to ship to a USPS PO box, I will ship via UPS Ground, saving you considerable expense.  UPS cannot deliver to a USPS PO Box.

Note, we will NOT ship to a Hotel under any circumstances!  While we appreciate that international airline crews would like to save money by sending a parcel to their crew hotel, we have repeatedly found that such arrangements usually result in a lost parcel.  Making matters worse, UPS, FedEx and the USPS will demonstrate that the package was delivered and signed for, and will not approve an insurance claim, while the hotel will deny ever signing for the package.  Hence, for your protection, we will not ship to a hotel under any circumstances.

Shipping - Canada:
Shipments to Canada will be sent by US Postal Service (USPS) using First Class, Priority Post (with "Signature Required" Delivery Confirmation) or Express Post.  We can ship by FedEx or UPS, however our experience is that this is very expensive.  Any order weighing less than 4 lbs (64 ounces) can be sent by First Class.  Orders exceeding this weight, or requiring a large box must be sent by Priority or Express Post.   If you want to avoid the $1.95 extra cost for "Signature Confirmation" on Priority or Express packages (already included in the quoted postage), please let us know in the "Additional Comments or Special Instructions:" box at checkout.  As always, postage charged is at cost, and excess paid is always refunded.  Also note that First Class mail can neither be tracked nor insured.  Priority Post and Express Post shipments can be tracked and insured.

Shipping - Mexico:
First, orders to Mexico will be quoted "International" rates.  The actual rates to Mexico are less, and excess paid will be refunded.  Shipments to Mexico will be sent by US Postal Service (USPS) using First Class, Priority Post (with "Signature Required" Delivery Confirmation) or Express Post. Also note that First Class mail cannot be tracked, and shipments to Mexico cannot be insured.  Priority Post and Express Post shipments can be tracked.

Shipping - International:
Shipments to the rest of the world will be sent by US Postal Service (USPS) using First Class, Priority Post (with "Signature Required" Delivery Confirmation) or Express Post.  We can ship by FedEx or UPS, however our experience is that this is very, very expensive. Priority Post and Express Post shipments can be tracked,  and insured to most, but not all countries.
