Walls and ceiling construction
Wall and ceiling panels are 4" (100 mm) thick with 16 ga electroplated galvanized steel sheet on outer surface. The inner faces are 22 ga cold rolled steel perforated with 3/32" holes on 5/32" staggered centers, roll formed to strengthen them and make an array of anti standing wave wedges. Panels are filled with three specific density mineral material designed and assembled to damp efficiently all types of noises. Weight: 10 Ibs/sq. foot (51 kg/sq. metre).
Floors are 4" thick with 12 ga satin cold steel top surface, satin structural steel framing members and 16 ga satin cold bottom face sheets. Floor panels are filled with high density mineral material. Interlocking of floor panel uses cam-lock system and closed cell acoustic rubber seals. The entire floor lays on pure rubber buma isolators and rails. Weight: 11 Ibs/sq. foot (56 kg/sq. metre).
Doors are of similar construction of the walls and ceiling. Door is flush mounted on heavy duty cam lift hinges. A double magnetic gasket sealing system and flush sill seal design assures the acoustic seal and an easy access for wheel chairs.
Double-glazed 36" x 32" (91 x 81 cm) window (on most models) are set on set viseo-elastic gaskets. 1/4" (6 mm) safety glass is used.
Ventilation silencers, one intake and one exhaust per room, are designed to provide from 50 to 75 CFM. Silencers are wall or ceiling mounted and the system will allow to meet the requirements of ANSI S3.1-1999 standard. Silencers usually measure 6" x 15" x 60" (15 x 38 x 152 mm).
Electricity and lighting
Rooms are equipped with 2 electrical fixtures located on each side of the window to allow optimum view of the patient's reactions. A duplex receptacle is located under the window inside and outside the room. Electrical service run inside the acoustic wall and is connected to the outside by way of a top mounted junction box. All electric al components are CSA approved.
