Commercial Pest Control
Xtermitec's heat application is the only available remediation method that provides additional benefits, including improvements to indoor air quality, a decrease in allergens, dust mites, odours, and more, and a reduction of VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds). The table below illustrates further benefits of heat, when compared to traditional chemical treatments.
Why is heat better than using chemicals?
Recently, pesticides have shown to be ineffective in managing bed bug infestations. An informal survey of pest control operators conducted by an entomologist at the University of Massachusetts found that, when using chemicals, 68% of all bedbug infestations require three or more treatments, 26% require two treatments, and 6% require just one. Additionally, some people may be sensitive to chemicals which could result in allergic reactions or other side effects. Many people may also not have the option to use chemical solutions as part of their control method. Xtermitec uses a non-chemical process and therefore is the practical solution for people with chemical sensitivities and is ideal for treating health care facilities, hospitals, and schools where chemicals are not an option. Another added benefit to our heat treatment process is that our equipment is discreet. This allows you to maintain your privacy when it comes to your pest control initiatives. This can be particularly important in the hospitality industry where image is everything. Our equipment will give the impression that you are simply drying out a water-damaged room.
Details about our unique heat treatment process
Xtermitec uses advanced heating strategies to actively heat structures. This results in the complete elimination of bed bugs, moisture, odours, dust mites, allergens, VOC's, and other pests. When you choose Xtermitec, you get added benefits that other pest control operators are unable to offer via traditional remediation methods. Effective structural heating requires a combination of elevated temperatures, extended duration of the elevated temperatures, and even heat distribution. All of this is combined with controlled air movement using high powered fans, pressure differences inside the heated areas (relative to outside pressure), temperature probe monitoring, and the use of our high-output air delivery and heating systems. Effective structural heating is an active methodology. There is a great deal of precision and expertise involved in each heat treatment we perform; we do more than just simply heat the structure.
