The PowerTrac DT Series is a battery diagnostics tool developed specifically to meet the needs of industrial and motive battery systems. The new battery monitor tracks and logs various battery performance data including battery voltage, temperature, current, and amp-hours of charge and discharge. The plug and play device requires no installation. The PowerTrac DT is equipped with an infrared (IR) port for wireless data transfer via PDA devices, such as a Palm Pilot.

Monitors and Logs Critical Battery Performance Data

The PowerTrac DT tracks and logs critical battery performance data including:

* Battery voltage, battery current, and temperature

* Charge and discharge Amp-Hours since installation and per event

* Charge and discharge events, including:

• Battery voltage

• Event type (charge/discharge), and event number

• Start time, and finish times

• Minimum and maximum voltages and time stamps

• Maximum current and temperature and time stamps

• Event Amp-Hours charge/discharge

Selects and Sizes Batteries Precisely

The PowerTrac DT allows users to select and size the proper battery for a given application. The amp-hours of discharge as well as the various voltage and current data saved makes selecting the proper amp-hour battery a breeze.

Tracks and Identifies Battery Problems

With the PowerTrac DT, battery problems can be easily tracked, identified, and solved. The unit can be installed in line with the battery connector and left in for a test period to collect data. All critical charge, discharge, and open event data is logged and saved in non-volatile on board memory for later download. Data is not lost when the unit is disconnected.

Wireless Data Transfer and Advanced User Interface

The PowerTrac DT incorporates wireless data transfer via an integrated IR port as well as advanced Palm and Windows software interfaces. Programming the unit and downloading and viewing data is done with the few taps on the Palm screen.

To ensure good connection between the shunt posts and the battery posts, make sure that you apply direct heat to the shunt terminals and fill in the solder/lead bar into the shunt terminal holes until it fills completely.
